A 53-year-old cement mason was injured while escaping the collapse of a four-million gallon digester tank in the middle of a construction site.  He had an extensive pre-accident medical history of multiple trauma-related injuries, including lower-back surgeries. The defense insurance company’s highest offer in settlement was $15,000.  We prevailed at trial and the jury awarded our client $3.3 million.

Golf Course Accident – Defendant - City of Los Angeles
Traumatic Brain Injury, Paralysis
While playing the fifth hole at Penmar Golf Course, our client, a physically active, 78- year-old former marathon runner and golfer, was struck on the head by a ball hit by another golfer. He suffered serious brain trauma, paralysis and multiple physical injuries.  We filed suit against the golfer who hit our client, and against the City of Los Angeles, the owner and operator of the course. During the course of investigations, we discovered the city’s own designs for the course delineating safety measures that the city had not enacted. The jury returned a verdict of $1.18 million and held the city accountable for its safety failure. 

Settlement: $1 Million

Auto Accident – Freeway Collision
Neck Injury and Surgery
While stopped in traffic on the 5 freeway in Castaic, our client was in a rear-end collision.   The impact caused our client’s seat to break and made him strike his head on the door. His neck injury required surgical repair and we were able to obtain a $1 million settlement for his injuries.

Railroad Accident – Chatsworth Metrolink
Cervical Injuries, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Currently representing a young man who was a passenger on the Chatsworth Metrolink train that crashed in September 2008.  Our client was thrown through the train compartment head first which resulted in serious cervical and back injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Neck Injury
A railroad employee was stepping from one car to another when he was thrown against the train due to a defective connection between cars.  He injured the discs in his neck from the violent movement of a train.   We filed suit under FELA and recovered $300,000 for our client.
